I think its strange how you never would have picked Mackenzie or more so, Xanthi to be leaders at the beginning - and only a few weeks ago they were the centre of conflict (after spending too much time together).

More recently it seems that Xanthi is holding things together (based on these arguments people are having with Andrew) - without people taking on that role and more of a leadership role - the relationships on shark island I suspect, would be much more fragmented.

I think Xanthi was the lesser of two evils when they picked their leader - it was between him, alpha male Mackenzie and bossy Soodi if I remember rightly. I would have picked him too in that situation. I think the others knew he wouldn't make any decisions that would 'rock the boat'.

It was just out of Xanthi and Soodi actually. Everyone on tigers went for it. I opted not to on Sharks and Hollie thought she was not going to win. We already new that Roise wanted to vote for Soodi so Hollie and i came together and decided we would rather have the Greek machine calling the shots! His first of which was at beach party...

The Greek Machine?  Cheesy I wonder if he has a nickname for you Mackenzie lol.

To be honest I think either one of them would have been a good choice, they seem to make decisions together and share the same opinions anyway so I don't think it would have mattered.

I'm just glad it wasn't Soodi!

I would have picked Xanthi over Soodi any day!!! Anyway Xanthi and MacKenzie seem to have the same opinions and sense of humour so i don't think it would have mattered which one became leader if MacKenzie had chosen to go for it Smiley

The Greek Machine - i love it Cheesy Does Xanthi have a nickname for you?

Fair enough. As for calling the shots I think booting Hollie seemed to be the natural choice if she hadn't really bonded with anyone to that point.

The basic point I was trying to make was that Xanthi seems to be in more of a prominent/leadership position now than he was (or was prepared to be) at the beginning, even if he was the official 'leader' for a couple of days.

I do agree with that, competitivness has set in and in an envirnment like that it would probably be hard to ignore.  However, he seems to have reined it in a bit lately.
