Is anyone else finding Liam to be a litle bit over dramatic? Seems like a lovely guy but seems to take everything a little too seriously?

To be honest, the amount he cries, I really think the Tigers should dig a well!

He comes across as very fake. Im not slating him personally, for all I know Danny may well be the most selfless person he has ever met, and he may very well have never been as disrespected as when an 18 year old boy didnt want to stay on an island with him for a couple of days   Sad Wink  Smiley
But to me on screen it just dosent seem genuine at all.

A couple of weeks ago at the beach party when Jack was a new arrival they showed him fawning all over him and then they cut to Louis Dan and Xanthi, being a bit sarky about him and basicly reeling of his entire speech Grin, he must have had it down to an art form by the time he went home.

What you seem to be completely forgetting is that the edit can change a lot of things.

That conversation we had with Danny around the fireplace went on for over 40 minutes, it wasn't 30 seconds and then I was calling him selfless, he told us all a lot more than what you see on camera.

You don't see when at the beach party I was pulled to one side and told to go see Jack and tell him that we'd all missed him etc.
You also don't see when production ask me during dinner to say "have you enjoyed having X here".

If I genuinely respected and wanted whoever to be on the island, what's the problem with telling them that, yes it's being portrayed in a slightly sychophantic manner but that's not how it was intended to be.
There's probably 50 hours of footage per week, per island filmed and that's cut into 20 mins each.
Neither do you see how certain Sharks will kiss the arse of new arrivals and if they choose Tigers they've turned round afterwards and said "It's fine, we didn't want them on our island anyway".

Just remember, there's a whole lot more going on behind the scenes and off camera...

but come on the thing last week with Kevin... the most disrespectful thing EVER?? I dont get why it all got taken out on Bene as I think that was much more disrespectful (unless there was actually more to it that wasnt shown) Think theres slight double standards going on there.

What you won't be told is that the main reason I'd been pissed off and taking it on on Kevin and Bene was that the production were getting involved with the storylines, they'd told us they can't create storylines but can 'facilitate' any storyline that we come up with. But Kevin told me that he'd said he really liked it on Sharks and the production crew said to him "Oh, you don't have to go to Tigers if you don't want, stay here, it'll make a good storyline" so that's what he did.

As for me talking to him and saying it was disrespectful, it was, but I initially said I wanted to talk to him off camera, one on one but they wouldn't allow it.

So in future, everything you watch and hear needs to be taken with a pinch of salt because the episodes you watch, might not be exactly as they happened.

I always take things on any reality show with a pinch of salt anyway, afterall they want to make good viewing don't they so they will edit all they like to get a good 'storyline'. Its an entertainment show afterall...

Im surprised they didn't let you speak to him off camera, did you ever get any time away from the cameras or were they constantly there 24/7?

fair enough. tbh there have been plenty of times i have wondered how much the production have got involved with some storylines.
when peoples reactions seem over the top you do wonder what really is behind it...

shame the production feel the need to mess with it so much. im sure plenty did/would go on without them trying to push artificial storylines.

Urgh! Obviously you have to take what goes on the show with a pinch of salt, but that is going a bit too far on the part of the producers. I'm half tempted to stop watching it.

But even taking your points into account, you still came across as quite melodramatic.

Liam, thanks for reminding us of the power of the production team in portraying a picture that is more dramatic than reality.  We only see snapshots of your personality and time on the island.  I must admit that watching you I thought that at times you come across as insincere when talking to new arrivals but then again, you would do if the x amount of hours you had spent bonding with people had been edited out. Sadly, by going on a reality programme people are going to judge you based on what they see. (But on the flipside you get to have an incredible experience that will stay with you for life.)

Whenever I watch or listen to recordings of myself I cant help cringing.   Embarrassed How does it feel watching yourself in the episodes? I wouldnt be able to!

Sometimes it's cringe, othertimes it's quite funny. I've started to notice when watching and from memory points in the show when we've been told to keep energy up, e.g. after the beach party and you arrive home off the boats and you're told to "whoop and scream" why would you do that when you get home??..

But for the most part it's interesting to watch it back. x

lol, I've noticed all the 'whooping' aswell. My dad was in the room when I was watching once and he said 'I wish they'd shut up with all the whoop whoops' haha.
