in the next epp he does a very funny Simon Cowell/ Nigel Lithgow parody. hope it makes it in.

When you're on the islands is there a schedule of filming? Do they say 'action' and take 1, take 2 for instance?

lol no. say for example when matt did came up with the cooking task. we consult with the crew as to when we need to do it to fit it in etc. but thats about it. obviously the island lawa are always done at the same time. same with the beach party. the only time where you would have to say anything again is if you are presenting the beach party. then we stop and start filming and take breaks on hot days. the host will learn his lines... i.e what the twist is this week, doest anyone wish to nominate, lets go meet our new arrivals etc.

how far in advance does the presenter learn the twist? cos would they not need to keep it  secret or that if they found out a couple of days before?

you find out at the beach party about an hour before that you will be the host. then you do the walk in everyone sits down and you deliver your first line. "welcome back to shark island, the tigers. I am your host or something for the beach party and as such I am impartial" then you come out and learn your next 2/3 lines. so you learn the twist 60 seconds before you deliver it.

for me i was concentrating so hard on not mucking up that I didn't focus on what the twist was untill after id said it. I was trying to go for one take. so we could get through it a quick as possible. its hard to sit out in the sun for 2 hours filming that... it is so hot!

yeahh supose you'd want to do it in one take, dont suppose you'd get the same reaction if you announced the twist twice :-S

It's difficult to say but I think mack is still a big personality on sharks so would have a lot more impact than, say, if Lois or Doug disappeared, esp since he is an original.

I'm trying to remember, but I don't think Sharks did anything to show they were missing Bene, whereas they sent Adam a message on a leaf and shouted and screamed with lamps at night for Greg, and tried to rescue the kidnapped Rosie.

I really missed MacKenzie as well this week, but i suppose the stories they focused on Sharks was obviously new arrival Matt, the flirting between Dan and Xanthi and Maz and Lois' playing cupid. Hopefully we'll get to se more of MacKenzie this week, now the potential 'romance' story is no longer there.

Thanks Andrew for letting us in on a few details of the Beach parties, and the filming aspects of the show. It's interesting to hear about what goes on behind the scenes. I like the little extra details the Shipwreckers gives us, like that the 'host' had to learn thier lines to get through it as quickly as possible, while trying not to think about the effects of the twist. These little snippets give the viewers a real insight into what actually happens, especially when some of the editing has been pretty bad this year.

I did feel sorry for Bene, cause nobody except for Nadeja seemed to care that she was gone. They missed Greg loads, he swam across to see them, they waved lanterns and shouted out to him, they sent a message to Adam on a leaf showing they missed him and making sure he was ok, and they went to get Rosie when she was kidknapped. But they didn't do anything for Bene, having said that, maybe they did and we just didn't get to see it. I wonder what they'll do to show Dan how much they miss him, i can only imagine they'll do something amazing cause they all looked devastated at the beach party.

I was wondering about that cause some of the conversations seemed staged at times if you get me, like this week when Lois and Maz got together and decided to set up Dan and Xanthi, it just seemed like it wasnt a normal conversation and they were acting it, like the camera man went now go, and maz goes, well lois your Dan's best girl mate. It just didnt seem real to me, if you get me.

I don't agree. Thats the sort of things my friends say if they're/we're trying to set people up. I thought it was really sweet of them to go to all that trouble of setting up 'lover's corner' with the lanterns, and in time for sunset. And Maz was only stating a fact, Lois is Dan's best girl mate on the Island, i think thats quite obvious cause they spend loads of time together. I don't think it looked forced at all. Although i do agree that some conversations do look or sound quite staged/acted, but not this one.

I thought that was staged, and how did Maz and Lois find Lanterns on a desert Island. Wink Planted by the producers me thinks.
