mark to be fair it is a bit of a snap judgement but u have to admit she didnt come across well at all in that episode. maybe it was the editing or perhaps she is a grower...

im not saying shes a bad person at all- i just think most people find people who are a bit mouthy and dont listen to anyone elses opinions frustrating.

Mark, just to add my piece here - there's nothing at all wrong with being a loud female character, look at Vanessa Feltz, Jo Brand etc - BUT its the negative attributes such as rudeness, ignorance and plain disregard for anyone else's feelings that have given her this bad image during only the first episode.

Its tricky for you, as you're personally friends with the girl, but consider the Shipwrecked audience, none of us know you guys - we can only go on what we see on the screen. You're clearly a laugh, bonkers even but great viewing - Nadejah on the other hand is being shown only in a negative light, rude and obnoxious - I don't think she's taken one minute to consider that this is reality TV.

I just hope that your friendship/bond with her doesn't get you in trouble later in the series, keeping my fingers crossed for you mate!

I just mean't that I hope your close friendship/bond with her on the show doesn't mean that the other contestants became negative towards you too during the series - you know if you stick up for someone that's not particularly nice, you also become the target of dislike? We'll see over coming episodes of course, but I just hope this doesn't happen to you.


True true, well lets hope she changes, not only during the show but also now, on her return having watched herself and how she responds to other people!

I did wonder if they were editing it to make her seem as rude/difficult etc as possibe now, so that they can show a bigger change through her time there... the thing i found that stood out the most was how she was saying that she'd be a good leader.. but her reason was pretty much "I'd be a good leader because I wouldn't listen to what everyone else thought" Im sorry, WHAT??!!

When someone loud and of ethnicity is involved in a disagreement it almost always comes across to others much worse than in many other case scenarios.

The Island's concept is of teamwork, bonding and general all round fun; it is not however a military camp...I recall Sonny saying something about them having to 'ask' to go to the toilet...I would disagree with that if I was on the island but many others would let it just fly over their heads... Nadejah however, didn't...And I applaud her for sticking up for herself...

Unfortunately people of black ethnicity always seem to be potrayed as rude and aggressive so many people would easily mistake Nadejahs way of disagreeing with comments made as stereotypical behaviour; however if she wants to voice her opinion about something...Why not?

I happen to know her personally and she is the kindest and most dedicated friend I've ever met...We've never even had an argument...

Honestly guys...Give her a chance and follow her storyline...her character is not as bad as the first episode suggests she is.

I love her...hopefully you guys will too!
