...that almost every contestant so far (with the greatest respect to the contestants themselves) seem to all live at home, and in very very large houses/wealthy households? Where are the contestants that have their own houses Huh

I presume they'll put in some contestants from average/poorer backgrounds so as to mix up the classes a little? Seems a little bit biased at the moment?

maybe these people who live at home are the only ones who are able to leave home for this length of time! but to be fair to them, some of them are only like 18/19.. I think it's pretty normal for them to still live at home then!

Fair point, I actually hadn't noticed the age of the contestants (although I bought my first house at 21). To be fair I could never go away for that length of time, someone has to pay the mortgage!!

I live at home and im 22 soon to be 23, although not by choice its just too expensive atm and being a student i cant afford to buy or really rent, so im saving up so can move out when finish my course!
I guess older people that have their own house are more likely to be settled in a job and therefore not able to just leave for 3 months or so, as then could lose their job and then cant afford to pay rent. Lot of people do it in their gap year i guess too so younger, wish i had applied a few years ago would so love to do it!

Me too Annie, would have loved to do something like this - whats the age limit for Shipwrecked out of curiosity? I'm feeling old...and I'm not even old...!!

well i don't live at home and im the first new arrival so maybe your theory is right. Tho in fairness its harder and harder to afford a house these days and most people are between 18 and 22. Annie28_2008 is sensible mooch off the rents and save money!

To be fair, wish I had done that for a little longer than I did - as soon as I moved out my room became a gym, and my brother's became a therapeutic room!!!

Think thats a hint that we'll never be welcome back Cheesy

Just to reemphasise I'm not saying its a bad thing to be from a 'well off' background, it just seems rare for the contestants to all have been from such families - maybe they'll introduce the 'rabble' later, hehe.

Of course it makes sense that the students would still be living at home.. we all know how students are reputedly all completely skint! I dont think i could cope doing something like shipwrecked.. I can quite happily say what I think about everyone who's one there, but I don't think I'd be able to hear stuff they'd say about me!! (wouldnt want to be the ugly/fatter one either compared to all of them on there!!) I think the max age is 26??
