They concentrated a lot more on the island dynamics, getting to know the islanders etc.  (Particularly in 2006 and 2007)
This series is far more about island law - we haven't got to know the islanders as well as before.
Also there's less airtime - I actually preferred the Hutcam Diaries to the main show in previous years - that was great to get to know people better.

I wouldnt agree with that actually. 2006 started strong but as it progressed it was very formulaic, it was pretty much ALL about winning over the new arrival (who always went to the first island they arrived on) which left not much time for anything else.
I dont remember that being so much the case with 2007, which is imo the best series.

How can you say the Tigers treated her badly, they obviously all liked her.  The "lads" were obviously keen to see a pretty girl, but then isn't that natural.  However, I can see that the "lad" mentality is prob why maybe the gay or hippy types preferred Sharkes.  I agree that the Sharks are a more diverse bunch because of this but they then tend to split up into groups rather than be one big group like the Tigers.  This point is made by every new arrival and it all depends on whether they like the big group idea, or have bonded with a few people and want a bit of space, as to which island they pick.  The way people form groups and act within them is why I love this sort of programme so much.

I was referring to Bene here not Stacey. "The Lads" obviously loved Stacey. To Quote Jack I think it was something to do with her "Two personalities"

I have to agree with the comment about Nadejah seemed to be the only one who REALLY cared about missing Bene ,not saying others weren't bothered but there didn't seem to be a great big fuss about her like there was with Greg and i have to say i really warmed to Bene this week ,she didn't sulk like Greg when he was on Tigers yet considering what happened with stacey leaving sharks early and swimming back to tigers and not exactly singing sharks praises ,she acted very gron up and civil about everything ,yes she understandably got upset but she didn't start acting the diva or anything she seemed more bewildered by it all and she didn't try to fight with tigers regarding what happened before .it would seem like she and tigers cleared the air ,i was impressed with her maturity ,she's actually alright

The circumstances are very different though lioness.

Greg was the first, him being stolen was a total shock. NO ONE was expecting it when they went to that weeks beach party, so neither Greg, Sharks or Tigers were prepared. Both tribes have had a few week now to adjust and prepare themselves for the eventuality of one them having to leave the tribe.
With Bene they were prepare and had some say in the decision, with Greg they werent and they didnt.

Yeah i guess thats true ,i did feel sorry for her though it couldn't have been easy listening to stacey saying what she said about her team and the fact sharks chose her to go to tigers ,i know she volunteered as well,so did doug but she must've felt awful and not knowing what to think ,it was an eventful week to say the least
