All I can say is good for him! And he must be very strong to resist temptation, but when he does eventually have sex I think it will be so much more special for him.

I'd say it's up to the individual, but if you're going to do it, at least be careful.

I had a friend who had sex before marriage - made a right mess of the wedding dress!  You should have seen the state of her, walking down the aisle!

I admire the people that wait til marriage, but I don't believe in it.
To me I don't see what the difference is if you have sex before or after you are married, at the end of teh day its your own personal choice and it doesn't affect who you are as a person.
Its the same for age, to a degree, obviously 14s still a bit young, 15's not as bad, and 16 is perfectly alright as it is legal.

I'd say it's up to the individual, but if you're going to do it, at least be careful.

The thing is that 'no sex before marriage' isn't just a religious issue, infact the reason that it became a topic originally was due to the fact that it caused so many issues, for example children outside of stable relationships and disease.

We can see that even with contraception in the world, unwanted pregnancies are high and there are vast numbers of children in care, which although I do realise that some of these children are there for other reasons, a lot are put in care due to unstable unmarried backgrounds.

We only need to look at the AIDS situation in Africa to discover that sexually transmitted diseases are deadly. A lot of religious teachings derive from social problems. Many teachings within Christianity sprout from doing what is best for society and helping one another, such as Do not kill. I think that no sex before marriage, whilst it can symbolise self-discipline and other virtues, it's aim was to uphold society.

So in a world where sexually transmitted diseases are so common, and contraception exists, the argument that one has to be "sexually compatible" with their partner before marriage, just doesn't seem to hold. One has to weigh up pleasure with the cost of what it may cause.
Programmes like Jeremy Kyle or Trisha really show the destruction that sexual relations outside of marriage can bring.
What I really don't agree with is the idea that religion is indoctrinated into children. If religion wasn't taught in schools or parents carried on their beliefs to children, then wouldn't the idea of atheism be indoctrinated instead?
