Awww poor Greg. He didn't steal their money, that was just part of the game. I can understand everyone being a little upset because they all worked hard to win new arrivals, it was a team effort, but they should understand that it wasn't Greg's fault. Having said all of that we didn't have to go through food rationing, no proper luxaruires, and in the case of Sharks having twists thrown at us which were always detrimental to the tribe, so i guess they have a right to feel a bit disappointed.

It must have been difficult for the orignals though. After all they have been there from the beginning, and built a lot of the camp etc. I'd have preferred MacKenzie or Xanthi to win as they've been very loyal to the Sharks, and have been there from the start.

Edit -Ok just read Dan's post and thats kinda made me feel sorry for the Sharks. Greg should have thanked everyone, because at the end of the day it was a team effort, and without their hard work at winning new arrivals Greg wouldn't have the money. I can see where you're coming from Dan, i'd probably feel the same way tbh.

That did seem akward in the studio when Greg went into the problems with Sharks. There always seems to be problems at the end of the series. I remember last year with Susan and Carly.

He did say in the interview though that he felt bad about not saying thanks to the sharks.

I think Greg was a really worthy winner. He was genuine, kind and didnt want to win so he could go shoppping etc, he just valued the experience and the friends that he made.

It is a shame that the experience was tarnished in the sense that some contestants are angry with him for not thanking them and i can completely see their point and understand why they feel like they do. but...it must have been really awkward to sit amongst everyone and find out that you are effectively taking all the money away. But he didnt ask for that. He has apologised now for not thanking them when it happened. He may not have said the right thing at the time but its hard to react in the 'right' way when a bombshell like that hits you.

It would be a real shame if that was the way that the friendships end because isnt that what the shipwrecked experience is about? Sharing an experience with people that you have grown to rely on as family?

But it was the people you expected to react like that that did.

I love Greg - he has been a favourite of mine from the moment he stepped onto the island.  Im glad he won but more glad that Sharks won overall - Im not a fan of 1 member winning the cash but as it had to be someone I think the Tigers chose well in Greg.

I think if he failed to thank his fellow sharks it was probably due to awkwardness or misplaced guilt - he certainly seemed grateful towards his team in the immediate aftermath as shown on todays show.

Totally agree McMac and Beetlebum. There is a reason why Greg won, and some of the other "loyal" (until money comes into the equation) sharks did not. He was chosen fair and square by the tigers to win. Greg was obviously overwhelmed when he won and it's sometimes hard to know how to act, saying the right thing and being grateful to the tigers for voting him, whilst remaining graceful towards the sharks. In this sort of situation there are always some bitter people who because they are jealous, try to twist things around and make the other person, Greg in this case, the bad guy. They think this justifies their poor attitude. Unfortunately for them most people see through it, and it just further proves why they were not the winners. WELL DONE GREG, YOU DESERVE IT!!!

Although I like Greg I'm not entirely sure he should have won. In my mind it should have been Mackenzie or Xanthi.

It was the fact that Greg has never turned round and thanked any of us. To me, he buried his head in the sand when he got back and distanced himself from a few people which made us second guess him. He has never approached any of us and said thank you. To me, that is shameful behaviour, especially when we all worked so hard for it.

Some of the sharks seemed very sore losers today, especially yourself and Xanthi. Maybe I just noticed it more with the two of you as you were at the front and Xanthi was next to Greg, but it was very obvious.
My favourite Shark was MacKenzie, but I liked Greg too.  I was not that keen on him initially, but I saw a different side to him with his reaction to Maz's letter. He was broken hearted. He seemed a really nice guy who was badly hurt, and the 70K was a nice surprise.

He didn't really need to thank you Dan, but I hope he thanked the Tigers. They were the ones who did him a great favour.

I was glad Nadj didn't win that, she seemed to be next in the running. I would have been angry if that had been the case.

All that is left to say is WELL DONE GREG, I hope you enjoy your money, spend it on your friends and family and those that mean something to you, forget about the rest they are not worth it, but please remember the tigers on your Xmas card list, as they were the ones that did you a big favour.

It's not about jealousy, Greg was one of the people that I was close to on the Island and spent a lot of time with, he deserved it just as much as every other single person on our Island and no more than anyone, we as a tribe all contributed to the Sharks and Greg winning. People's bitterness is not directly aimed at Greg but more to the show makers and T4 who have a big influence on all twists and turns, also the way the winner was decided was unfair, it basiclly went to the person who got on best with the competition, the tribe we were against. Because of this a lot of people had no chance in winning, Dan for example, went over to Tigers with no intention of helping them win and doing his upmost to help the Sharks, Kevin didn't want to go over there & Mackenzie had never spent time with them outside of new arrival days, I could go on. Because of all these factors as well as others it felt like more of an elimination process (Who had annoyed the Tigers the least). This is not neceserally how the Tigers will have seen there decision process but this is how the Sharks have seen it, also the Tigers didn't know everything that went on behind closed doors, they didn't know us well enough to make the decision. There were more names brought up by Tigers during the decision process but dismissed quite quickly because of certain things.

So because of all of this everyone was annoyed at the show more than the actual winner (regardless of who that was), however as it did have to go to one person, Greg was the only one that could have made the bad situation a little better, by for example, thanking us as well as the Tigers, explaining what he had planned to do with the money, offering to maybe put on a party for the Sharks back at home, just something that would have shown his appreciation to the Sharks and given us a few answers to questions we all had, we helped him win 70k, a small gesture wouldn't have made a big dint in his account.

People would act differently in that situation, had I won, the first thing I would have done when the Tigers had left and we were back in camp is said something like "Guys without you I would have never had this opportunity, this will change my family's life etc". We still don't know anything about what Greg has done with the money - 6 months later. The video I have just watched with Andrew interviewing him is the first I've heard about the money and Greg winning. Just wanted to explain a  little about why people are not the best of friends anymore.

P.S - When people are asked what would you do with 4k the answer is obviously going to be very different to what would you do with 70k. With 4k I would had done some traveling, payed off a credit card and had a bit of fun, with 70k, I would have spent loads on my mum's debt and clearing all mine, invested some into my house and then travelled etc as well as buying a few nice things, it certainly wouldn't have been wasted and I don't think it would have been wasted by any of the Sharks.

Danevered, The only shameful thing is you comin on a website open to the public, and tryin to embarrass greg and put a smear on his reputation. I'm his best mate, and i have to admit that the way the lad was on the telly is exactly the same as he is in real life; genuine, funny, good craic and honest. Its embarrassing and pathetic to a) see you on this website in the first place, and b) that you're showin huge amounts of biterness and jealousy; that is your problem, not the fact that greg got the money, its th fact that he won it and u didnt.
Maybe if you had been a bit more entertaining and as genuine as the little specky man was, then u'd be sittin with the 70 grand, and i wud bet that you wud have done exactly the same as greg has. Fair does vent your feelings to him privately, but have a bit of respect, dignity and grace and keep your opinions private.
GET IN GREGGGYYY despite your many physical deficiencys you only went and bagged it!! x

I am just grateful Tigers did not win full stop as the majority irritated me this year.

Also many people are right Greg could have thanked Sharks or been more appreciative of the role the other ilanders played in him winning.
