The auditions normally take 3 days. What happens is they select small groups (generally around 4 people), dump them on a nearby island and then leave them, to see how they cope. (There are hidden cameras, which you are instructed not to touch). You're marked on 3 different criteria:
1. How you cope with island life.
2. How you get on with your fellow islanders.
3. Can you keep a clear head when they release the crocodiles onto the island.
If you survive, you're given feedback when you return.
